I Speed Scrapped!

Last night I was on a roll and after completing 4 pages, I decided to join a speed scrap (the first I've done in months!) because the partecipation prize by Britt was just too tempting. ;-)

I started a new series of LOs:

There were the instructions of the speed scrap:
  1. Pick you pictures, one or many. But alter the main photo in some way. Turn it b/w, sepia, do some selective coloring, run an action, etc.
  2. Pick ONE background paper. Okay, I’ll feel sorry for you. You can use up to three more papers, but keep them small. Mostly use the one background paper
  3. Duplicate your main photo and blend it into the background.
  4. Hang your picture with something.
  5. Embellish as you wish, but be sure to include a critter, an insect, and something leafy.
  6. Add a COOL date element.
  7. Use an alpha that is NOT from the main kit you're using for the title. Shadow, journal, etc.
and here's my page:

I'm glad it's Friday, but because of the QoS competition I have the feeling this weekend will be far from relaxing.. :-P

The Last Stretch

The Queen of Scrap competition ends this week and the race for the 10 top posters is open! :) There are 12 of us fighting for those 10 top positions (among which the Queen of Scrap and the 2 Princesses will be chosen). It's just tough and I would hate to drop from the top ten after working so hard for the whole month. I'll try to squeeze in as many pages as I can, without neglecting DH though. ;)

Last night DH was at choir practice and I had some very productive scrapping time.
I did a 2 pager for the My Story Matters challenge, about a tradition we had as a kid. I love that I thought about this one and luckily my mom was able to dig up these super cute pictures!

I love this Christmas kit by Polka Dot Plum!!

My February monthly summary is ready so the first 4 months of the year are all done.

Finally, ever since I took these pictures I had this title in mind, and I finally got the page done!

That's it for now! I am now up to 91 LOs, so this means I'll do more than 100 this month: I never thought this was possible! So if I end up out of the top ten, I just have to be glad I got this much done. ;)

Wedding Anniversary

I already knew it, but it's official once more: I have the best husband ever!!
Yesterday was our 2nd wedding anniversary and he gave me a gorgeous necklace.. it's just beautiful!! And then he brought me out to dinner in our favorite restaurant. It was a wonderful evening!

I can now show off the card and wedding frame I prepared for him:

We didn't have any wedding pictures in our house and I felt we really needed one! ;)

This is the hardest hybrid project I've worked on so far, because cutting and applying the paper wasn't easy since it's not a flat frame.. However, I think it turned our beautifully and I'm glad I gave it a try! :)

We took some pretty pictures on Monday (and I'm glad we did because yesterday the weather was bad!) and I'll consider them our anniversary pictures even if taken 1 day early. :-) I scrapped one right away that will go in our 2010 calendar:

With all the celebrations for DH coming home and our anniversary, I've taken a serious fall from the Queen of Scrap top ten, just barely in 10th place.. Ugh! I need to find some time to scrap tonight!

Long Weekend

I really enjoyed the long Memorial Day weekend! DH came home Saturday evening after a 2 week absence, so this long weekend was much needed too. We enjoyed the nice weather and cool air (it was in the mid fifties and beautiful) and used the smoker last night.
Too bad the weekend is over, and worse still because it's our 2nd wedding anniversary today! But I really cannot complain.. And the weekend is only 4 days away. :)

Since DH came back home my scrapping time has been drastically cut down, but I still managed to get a few pages done over the weekend.

I finished scrapping all my class pictures from kindergarten up to 6th grade!

This page from my 1st year in kindergarten matches this one.

Finally Friday!

I'm so excited it's Friday!! This is a long weekend and DH is coming home! This also means I'll have to get the house cleaned before he comes back and I'll have less time to scrap... But hey, priorities, right! ;)

In the meantime, here's what I scrapped last night. This one was for the Everyday Magic challenge at SM, I really loved the prompt:

Blogging at Last!

This has been a super busy week for me and I've spent all my free time in the evenings scrapping because I'm giving a serious shot at the Queen of Scrap competition at ScrapMatters, so I haven't had a chance to show off here what I've been doing.
For the past 3 days I've been doing 3 pages per night, and here they are. ;)

And a Few More Pages..

I haven't scrapped too much today, but I did get a few pages done.
The first matches one of my favorite pages ever (see it here).

Then there's a 2 pager to go with 3 pages I did about the cutest little bunny ever (see this and this post).

I seriously think I have a problem. I'm really crazy about bunnies! I was scrapping these adorable pictures and I went in the kitchen to get dinner started, I looked out of the window and saw 3 bunnies.. Awwww. Needless to say, I spent at least half an hour snapping away pictures and having fun watching them. Bunnies are seriously too cute!! I cannot resist them!

Time to Catch Up

Here's the little project I've been working on for the past couple of days: I scrapped all the pictures from a weekend DH and I spent in Verona a little over 2 years ago.

I used the same kit for all the pages and I loved it!! As you can see I matched the pages in pairs, except the first and last one.
I really love all these pages and I think I finally found the right way to scrap pictures that come together in a series!
